WALL OF WOOD
Inspired by the incredible walls of the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre, I was asked to create a wall panel for a client's suite. I have since learned that the VTCC used robotics to assemble theirs, and I have a new appreciation for the phrase "there's more to it than meets the eye!"The assembled project looks like one large piece, but was created in three overlapping sections for easy transportation and installation.

PERSPECTIVES by Ledingham McAllister
For the lobby of the new Perspectives high-rise, I was asked to create a decorative "Firewood" feature. Recessed into a niche beside the modern fireplace, the stylized wood pile provides warm with a modern twist on rustic.

This side table was commissioned by BYU for one of their display suites at Athem Properties' The Rockwoods.

ALDER COFFEE TABLE
Commissioned by BYU Design, this coffee table was for one of their beautiful display suites at "Westwood". My original calculation for Alder required: 550 linear feet. Actual: much more, but I had enough... that's all that mattered to me. :) -
FIREWOOD COFFEE TABLE
I have made several of these fellas, the first one being out of necessity - the way many of my projects come about. At my old office, we needed something rustic for the staff lounge. I happened to have some firewood and wheels at home... need I say any more? This particular version of the Firewood Coffee Table was made for i3 Design who commissioned it for the Solaris Display Suite.

ALDER ROUNDS PANELS
Also for the Solaris Display Suite, i3 Design commissioned these panels as a wall feature for the Bedroom. Thanks for making these look even better on the wall with that inviting lighting Janine! -
EXPOSED BEAUTY (of plywood)
Who has enough time these days? I certainly don't, but deadlines and commitments certainly help get things done. For many years I was on the Board of Shooting Stars Foundation, and one of our main annual fundraising events was "Gambado", an gala dinner and auction.Somehow, I mentioned the concept of this piece in a meeting and the next thing I knew, it was due in a week!
This is a sheet of laminate covered plywood with a graphic routered out of it, exposing the plywood beneath the plain, white surface. The exposed area was filled with a self-leveling resin/varnish which really enhanced the raw wood and was a nice contrast to the matt finishe of the laminate.

WALL ART
This piece sounded terribly simple, but not until I was into it did I realize that a 48" x 52" space takes a lot of sticks to fill! In fact, I was so happy to finally put the last piece in place, I then counted them... 810 in all. :) -
ROUTERED TEXT PANEL
I first did one of these for a Polygon display suite. The designer needed something on a wall that didn't detract from the decor and other artwork that all worked so well together. The solution was a routered panel similar to this that was simply painted the same as the wall it was on. The lighting changes throughout the day and therefore, the piece looks different continually as shadows change with the intensity and direction of the light source.
